Medical Waste Regulation (RMW)
RMW or red bag waste, is medical waste produced during procedures, including any objects that have come into contact with human blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM), such as bandages, gauze, or personal protective equipment (PPE). They should be properly disposed of in designated hazardous waste disposal receptacles that are kept for the purpose of collecting hazardous contaminants.
Waste from Trace Chemotherapy
Any receptacle that has come into contact with or been previously contaminated by chemotherapeutic agents is known as trace chemotherapy waste. Examples of this type of waste include PPE that is not soaked in hazardous drug waste, fully administered syringes, and intravenous bags. To adhere to; local and federal government and regulatory criteria, it must be appropriately labeled, packaged, and must separated.
Pathological Waste
Organs, tissues, and surgical specimens (decanted of formaldehyde, formalin, or other preservatives) are examples of pathological waste. These items are packaged separately for pickup in containers designated for combustion exclusively. We can assist you and your employees with the proper separation, packaging, and disposal of pathological waste produced by your medical facilities.
Sharps Waste
Disposable sharps containers should be used to dispose of sharps waste, including needles, scalpels, blades, and pipettes that have come into contact with bodily fluids, blood, or microbes. To prevent needlestick injuries and ensure worker safety, you can include this in your bio-hazardous or red disposal waste bags.
